In Loving Memory of Deacon Ronald Szakatits
Born: June 12, 1948 - Died: March 09, 2010

Ronald Szakatits, 61 of Sterling died Tuesday March 9, 2010.
He was born on June 12, 1948 in East Lansing, MI, the son of Eugene and Irene Szakatits and was employed at Wahl Clipper Corp in Sterling for 15 years.
Ron was ordained a permanent Deacon of the Diocese of Rockford in 2003 serving the Parish of Sacred Heart in Sterling from which he was an active member. He was also a volunteer at the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry in Sterling.
Surviving are his children: Aaron (Karen) Szakatits of Zimmerman, MN, Sarah (Shawn) Zigler of Rock Falls and Jacob (Angelina) Szakatits of Sterling and six grandchildren, Evelynn, Zachary, Macy, Molly, Brooklyn and Amelia.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Susan Jarmula.
Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday March 13, 2010 at 11 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sterling. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 4-7 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home 1002 12th Avenue in Rock Falls with the rosary being recited at 4 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his memory to the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry would be appreciated.
