COMPASSIONATE MINISTRY OUTREACH
Sacred Heart has many compassionate ministers reaching out in the community not only to our parishioners, but all catholics. On a scheduled basis, volunteers take communion 3 times a week to our local hospital, CGH. Fr. Bruce and Deacon Ken visit the homebound monthly, or as requested, as well as all Catholics in the hospital once a week. On Sunday mornings scheduled ministers also take communion to homebound. For parishioners who are unable to drive themselves but can get out for Mass, volunteers will pick those parishioners up and bring them to Mass. Also on Sunday mornings, there are two teams of ministers who provide communion services at both Morningside Care Center and Parkway Center, both independent living facilities in Sterling.
